Ky Hoa Hotel Saigon

After our conference, we had dinner at the hotel's seafood restaurant and the staff welcomed us warmly and paid attention to what we needed. I especially liked the shrimp salad served in a pineapple basket. The other dishes were also nicely prepared and seasoned. The organizers covered the bill, so I don't know the cost, but we all enjoyed the meal.

The room was big and very quiet, though the air conditioner was too small for it and didn't cool well. It's old school, but I'd stay again.

My family and I were treated rudely from the moment we walked in. The staff seemed to judge us and act as though we were trash from who knows where. At the front desk, an older man assumed we couldn't afford much and only told us about the cheapest rooms. We don't mind paying more for a good bedroom. I've stayed at cheaper places that were much better, with much nicer staff.

I won't come back. The shower drain barely worked, so taking a shower left the whole bathroom flooded for a while. Breakfast was bad too. The banh canh was the worst I've ever tasted, with a flavor like the cook had been smoking a cigarette or had dropped one into the soup. One bite was enough. When I went for vegetables to go with my noodles and cha gio, I saw ants crawling over all of them and left my plate. The only things I could eat were the cha gio and eggs.
