The security guard was the only good part of this place, even though other reviewers complained about him. The rest was revolting, moldy, run down, and full of serious health hazards. We have pictures of all of it. When we got to the room, the sheets were dirty and looked unwashed, the sofa was badly stained, and there was gunk and filth on the walls. The window shades were broken and wouldn't roll up, the shelves were broken, and so was the door under the A/C. Fuzzy lining was peeling off and blowing into the air, making it hard to breathe. The bed platform around the mattress had jagged, sharp edges that cut my foot. The worst thing was the shower. Giant globs of black mold came out of the bodywash dispenser. I brought it downstairs and asked for new bottles, but they just refilled the moldy ones without cleaning them. They returned them still full of mold. It's disgusting and a serious health hazard. This hotel should not be in business and should be shut down. They promised to refund our reservation, then never did. Ho Chi Minh City has plenty of lovely places run by caring people. Don't waste your money or peace of mind here, with slumlords whose lack of care could cause serious long-term health problems.

The late checkout was a real help when our evening flight left us wanting a shower and somewhere to keep our bags. They let us stay on for a small fee, and were willing to work with us. The staff were kind throughout, and the location made it easy to walk to plenty of restaurants and cafes. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a fan and AC. The AC alone wasn’t very strong, but both together did the job. WiFi dropped out now and then, and the bathroom was clean with basic toiletries and reliably hot water. It’s a simple place rather than a fancy one, but we had what we needed and the price was good. We didn’t try the laundry, though it looked like they wash, fold, and bring it back on request; I’m not sure whether that costs extra. For a short stay, we’d happily come back if we wanted somewhere comfortable and affordable.

The aircon was weak, so during all five nights I struggled to sleep whenever I relied on the fan. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

For the money, this apartment was a steal. It was spacious, comfortable, and had all the facilities I needed, and the staff were lovely. There’s plenty of good food and coffee nearby, along with several convenience stores and a market. District 1 is only a short ride away by Grab bike, so it works well for either a brief visit or a longer stay in HCMC.
