Le Saigon Hotel

The smoke was so bad I woke up in the middle of the night, and I was glad to check out very early. My first room on the 2nd floor smelled of cigarettes, so I immediately asked to move to the 9th floor. That room was slightly better, but the hallway reeked of smoke and some drifted into the room. I put hotel towels along the bottom of the doors to keep it out. The bell boy agreed that the room and hallway smelled of cigarettes, but I’m not sure why the hotel didn’t try to remove the smoke. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that smelled this strongly of cigarettes.

For the price, Le Saigon Hotel was well worth it. It’s a no-frills place, so keep your expectations in check, but it has what you need for an efficient stay. Being so close to the airport is really convenient for early or late flights. Recommended if budget and location are your priorities.

This will be my third stay at Le Saigon, which has become a real hidden gem for me. On my first night, the night staff Kevin and Tung smoothly arranged an upgrade to Le Grand Saigon before I could feel any inconvenience from changing hotels. When I returned to Le Saigon for the third time, they greeted me by my first name, even though I hadn’t known theirs at the time, brought my luggage up, and checked the room was in tiptop condition before leaving. They and the helpful security guards are why I plan to stay here whenever I’m in HCM city. All the front desk staff are professional, friendly, and helpful, too. They also stored my extra luggage for five days while I traveled to Danang. There’s airport pickup and drop-off for a very nominal fee. I wish I’d known about pickup on earlier visits, as finding transport to the hotel had been a hassle. Now that I know, I’ll spread the good word.

They picked me up at the airport after midnight. The staff were very nice, and the place was clean. A perfect airport hotel for a very good price.
