I booked a standard room through agoda, and staff confirmed it was the room listed in my booking confirmation. When I arrived, they said I'd booked a room without windows. After I challenged that, they told me to take it and said they'd get back to me. Later, they blamed agoda for selling me the wrong room and told me to contact them, without offering any solution. agoda then told me to contact the hotel, leaving me stuck in a circle and treated like an inconvenience. After three days, I couldn't stand the awful room any longer and moved to an airbnb, which was much better and a thousand times cheaper. The front desk bluntly said there'd be no refund, even though this was literally their fault. The room was a windowless shoebox with just one chair. The bathroom got very stuffy and smelly, so I had to leave the ventilation on. But the ventilation was wired to the light, and the bathroom door had a small translucent window. Along with the horrible hostel-grade mattress, that meant we couldn't rest during our stay. The plumbing was ridiculously loud, with an eerie whistling noise every time we flushed. This booking was a nightmare. I chose M Village because I knew it as a big, up-and-coming chain and expected a middle-class hotel standard. The quality and service I actually got were what I'd expect from a hostel.

Getting down into the valley means a short walk, which could be a hassle with heavy bags. The room itself was clean and comfortable, the facilities covered the basics, and the location was handy. It was an okay stay.

I booked a Deluxe room and had plenty of space for one, with big windows facing the main road. The bathroom has no divider between the shower and toilet, so the floor gets wet, and I would have liked more room by the sink for toiletries. The staff were kind and helpful during my two nights there. The setup felt more like a serviced apartment, with shared kitchen and living areas, than a hotel. Reception isn't staffed around the clock, which made me less comfortable as a solo woman traveler. The location in District 3 is convenient, about a 15-minute walk from the War Remnant Museum. Cars and taxis can't enter the alley, so they leave you on a busy road, though motorbikes can get in. There's a nearby bar with live music most nights, plus traffic noise. One night the music continued until 2:30 a.m., making it hard to fall asleep. When I told the staff the next day, they said I could message them on WhatsApp if it happened again, and they'd notify the police.

The staff are the main reason I've become a regular. They're so friendly and helpful. The location is handy too, with anywhere in the CBD about 10 minutes away by car or bike. I always book a room with a window, and the rooms are spacious. Downloading their app and getting their Zalo contact makes communication easier, highly recommend.

The room has very poor soundproofing, and it's noisy outside, with traffic jams in the neighborhood and nowhere for cars to park. The air conditioning was broken and they couldn't fix it. Service was awful too. The receptionist was often missing and hard to reach. We booked through the company, and when we contacted them to change the time, the sales team didn't answer or get back to us. The hotel team was rigid and didn't help. This is my last time using Mvillage.
