Melina Turtle Lake Saigon Center

The room was lovely, clean, and well equipped, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Getting there was the drawback: the alley is quite narrow, and the café space is being used for parking, so taxis can’t reach the hotel. You have to walk in.

It was peaceful at night even though the hotel is on a busy street, and the room was clean with hot water for showers. There are bus stops nearby going in several directions, so getting around is easy. The staff were kind and patient throughout our stay, and Ha suggested places to visit at our next destination.

The hotel is small and right in central District 3. Turtle lake is only a few minutes away, and the area stays busy even at midnight. You can walk to Independence Palace in about 10 minutes, or Nguyen Hue street, with lots of food and drink places, in around 20. The room was clean and service was good, with friendly staff. For a 2 star hotel, it’s better than 3 or 4 star hotels I’ve stayed at in Australia. I was lucky to find it, and I’ll book here again on my next trip to Ho Chi Minh city. Strongly recommend!

The staff were welcoming and helpful with our luggage, including loading our bags into the car at checkout. Our room was very spacious for what we paid, and it was cleaned every day. There’s a washer and dryer on site for a small extra charge. The deposit was 1mil VND, and check-in and checkout were straightforward.
