I saw a rat hurry past the entrance, and a few cockroaches scurried by too, so this isn't a five-star stay. Still, for £11 a night, four stars feels fair. The staff kept the place clean and running properly. The hotel is down an alley, but taxis can get there. There's plenty of hot, fresh food nearby and minimarts everywhere. My room had the basics, the TV had channels I could actually watch, and the air conditioning worked well. It felt as secure as it could be.

It's brand new. From the outside it doesn't look fancy, but the bed inside is really soft and comfortable. The street is quiet, and I really like staying here.

The hotel was noisy all day, and getting in was awkward because it stays locked from the outside. There were no signs, so it was very hard to find, and the “reception” looked like an ordinary apartment entrance. They also said the room would have a window, but it didn't. The room wasn't clean. The bathroom was so dirty I couldn't see myself in the mirror, and there was a lot of dust and empty bottles under the bed from previous guests. No one could speak any English, and the woman at the “reception” never returned our money.

I did the laundry without paying extra, but the place smelled of cigarettes.
