Nam Hy 1 Hotel

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. It's conveniently near the city center, with lots of clothing shops and restaurants just a short walk away, so getting around was easy.

We've stayed here many times and have no complaints. The rooms have a variety of small ceilings, but they're pretty good overall. Comfortable beds, great showers, and respectful staff who provide great service. We'll come back!

After my long trip north, I arrived to find there was no room for me. The admin person had booked the wrong date, a day earlier, even though I'd clearly told the lady which day I needed and she'd confirmed it. I'd also left my suitcase there. Having to search for somewhere at the last minute after a long journey was unacceptable. It was Saturday evening, and the nearby places I found online were already taken. It was a terrible experience, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I definitely don't recommend this place, go elsewhere.

The location in district 5 is convenient, with plenty of local food nearby, and many Việt Kiều (overseas Vietnamese) stay here. Staff were generally good, but tipping left a sour taste. They seemed to expect GOOD tips, especially Mr. Kha at the door, who complained and gave attitude when guests didn't tip enough for opening the door or helping with luggage. It made me uncomfortable. The rooms were small and dirty. Our feet got dirty quickly without indoor shoes, housekeeping didn't clean well, and I found hair in different places several times. The bathroom had black mold, particularly around the bathtub, the towels smelled, and the beds were on the hard side.
