OYO 1102 Tra My Hotel

DO NOT STAY HERE! Read this before you book. There was black mold on the ceiling and throughout the bathrooms, plus a very strong cigarette smell even though the room had a clear no-smoking sign. We asked to change rooms, but they could only offer one the next day. We booked somewhere else and asked for a refund. The lady at the front desk offered just one night because it was after 6 p.m. She was rude, handed me cash, then grabbed it back and told me to get a refund through Agoda, where we booked. Agoda was completely useless. After 2 days, they said we wouldn’t get our money back. Don’t waste your time with Agoda or this hotel.

There are cafés, convenience stores, and some lovely temples within an easy walk. The room itself was basic, and my window looked straight onto a staircase, but the price felt fair. Getting around was the real plus: bus 152 from the airport costs about 5,000 VND and drops you at Chùa Vĩnh Nghiêm Pagoda, then it’s a seven-minute walk. Bus 03 stops a few steps from the hotel and goes to District 1 for 6,000 VND. District 3 is handy for both the airport and the main tourist area, without needing an expensive taxi. Nothing fancy, but it covers the basics well. No real complaints beyond the window.

The bathroom setup will make you very close with whoever you’re sharing with. It’s a cheap option near the city centre for a short stay, so don’t expect anything fancy. My room was dirty and had mold everywhere, and I’m pretty sure the sheets hadn’t been changed. If you go with a partner, be ready for an intimate experience. Cheap price, rough ride.

They cancelled my booking at the last minute after overbooking, then offered to move me somewhere else for an extra fee. It was the worst experience I’ve had. This should be reported.
