I'm on my fourth day here now and have no complaints. For me, this is the best apartment I've stayed in so far in Saigon. I'm from NYC, have traveled to many countries, and this is my second trip to Saigon. I've stayed in all kinds of hotels, but this is my first apartment style stay. Opinions may vary from person to person, of course. I worried at first about checking in and out without the help desk you get at a regular hotel, but check-in turned out to be easy. The cleaning lady was lovely and helped me kindly, even though her English was somewhat limited. She used the Google translation app to answer all my questions, from the late-night front door access code to the laundry policy, and showed me the room details. Quyen, the host, was the best part. She replied quickly to all my questions and had her staff at the apartment to handle what I needed. They replaced the broken water port and iron within minutes of my request, with a smile. Quyen seems very reasonable and won't let you down if your requests are proper. I was confused about the floor level of the room I'd reserved, and she kindly offered an upgrade at no extra charge. I turned it down because I'm lazy and didn't want to pack and unpack again. The room is a little outdated, but that seems fair for the reasonable price. I care more about people and service than the room itself. Some people might complain about small bugs, but come on, you're in Vietnam. I saw them at Landmark 81 too. If you take it easy, this place is perfect for you. For anyone checking in late: you have to go through the ice cream store door. There's a small number pad on the doorknob. First tap the two random numbers that are lit up, then enter the secret code they gave you at check-in. It took me quite a while to figure that out.
