RedDoorz Near Ben Thanh Market 2

I stayed for 4 nights. The superior double was a basic, clean budget room, and they were upgrading some furniture and appliances, so I think the place will probably improve. The location is superb, close to the nightlife and the new metro train station. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful, especially Nghi at the front desk and Trang the room attendant. I’d recommend it for the helpful staff, location, and a budget stay.

I contacted them to say I’d be checking in late, and they offered to move me to Quý Hùng hotel, apparently because of a plumbing problem. Maybe they were overbooked. I turned that down, but they then moved me to Asian Ruby hotel anyway. It was just as old and not very clean. This hotel group doesn’t seem to care whether guests are satisfied. I’ll avoid them completely.

The photos gave me a very different impression. There were cracks across the walls and ceiling, and a nightclub right across from the hotel played loud music every night. The location didn’t work for us, and anyone who needs sleep should stay away. Staff weren’t friendly either. The receptionist seemed pleasant, but when we complained about things like the holes, he just did nothing. Worst hotel I’ve stayed at. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The apartment itself was beautiful, and the rooms were great. I’d have given it five stars if the people running it hadn’t made the stay so awful. Nobody smiled, and the service was terrible. We’d booked for three adults, with a king bed, a queen bed, and a sofa bed. At arrival, staff couldn’t find our room number and didn’t know where to put us. After a wait, they gave us a three-bedroom apartment instead of two, but nobody knew the door password, so we waited again before getting in. One bed had stained sheets. When we asked for clean ones, room service said we were only supposed to have two bedrooms and two sets of sheets. She took the sheets off the king bed, leaving us with two queen beds that weren’t what we’d booked, and told us to complain at reception. We later found there was only one set of sheets and another bed had no blanket. We went to reception repeatedly and called room service to bring one, but she never showed up.
