Sunny Apartment Ho Chi Minh

There was visible mold, water damage on the ceiling, and dirt in the room. They didn’t refund me.

The rooms were really dirty and uncomfortable, and the sheets were dirty too. They weren’t even white, which made the bed so uncomfortable. The owner was rude and spoke only Vietnamese, so communication was really difficult for me. When I asked her to call us a cab, the one that arrived couldn’t fit our luggage. I asked her to call another, but she got angry and left. I was rushing to the airport and ended up having to find a stranger to call a taxi for us. I would NEVER EVER recommend this place.

The room still looked visibly dirty after it had been cleaned. The dirty linen wasn’t changed, and crumbs were left on the sofa. I had to ask several times about the TV before someone came to check it on the second day. My room also wasn’t cleaned unless I asked, which shouldn’t have been necessary. I paid extra for a great room but was given a downgrade. I felt racially profiled and felt they had put me in their worst room, despite what I’d paid for. I complained and was offered a full refund, but after carrying six heavy suitcases from the basement to the ground floor, I couldn’t face doing it all again that same day, so I stayed. Trip.com compensated me for the room difference in Tripcoin, which I accepted. I don’t think it’s a bad property, and with proper management it could gain a few stars. But giving me a different room from the one I paid for felt like false advertising, and it was wrong.

Room 401 was mostly quiet. It didn’t face the main road, though it was right beside the elevator. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the location was good and reasonably priced, which is hard to find in Ho Chi Minh, especially with decent room quality. A few minutes’ walk gets you to lots of restaurants and VP banks. You can wash clothes too, and there’s a washing machine, but bring your own detergent. The kitchen area wasn’t fully equipped.
