Cosmopolitan Hotel

After another booking fell through because we were scammed on booking.com, we arrived around 10 pm and they still found room for us. This is a budget hotel, but the people working there made it a great stay. Four guys keep the place running around the clock, and every one we met was courteous, friendly, and ready to help. Hung, the one in the middle of the photo, was especially kind. He went out of his way to recommend things, make arrangements, and find good service at good prices. He was one of the highlights among the many nice people we met there. Thanks so much!

The smoking smell made the place uncomfortable. I also caught a cold, which I think may have been because the building carried chilly, dry air from other rooms into mine. Even with my own air conditioning switched off, my room still felt cold and dry.

The location is the one drawback since there's not much nearby. Still, the room had a window and a view, working air conditioning, basic amenities, a clean bathroom, and good Wi-Fi. For the money, I have no other complaints.

I ended up here because the other hotel I'd booked was full, and the owner was very nice about getting me a clean room at a very good price. The Wi-Fi was good too, so it was all I needed in that situation. It's tucked into a quiet alley in district 3, which helped me sleep, though I'd still bring earplugs. Cafes and restaurants are just around the corner, and the main sights in Saigon are reachable from there. The room came with free water; cleaning is available on request, and laundry is offered for a good price. I didn't have a motorbike, so I can't speak to parking, but I saw plenty of guests park theirs inside.
