The location was great, and the staff responded quickly on WhatsApp, so I’m giving this two stars instead of one. Still, this was the strangest hotel stay I’ve had. It calls itself four-star, but I’d rate it below some hostels. The room looked nice at first, yet the pillowcases were stained and the sheets had someone else’s hair all over them. The front desk sent someone to replace them as soon as we messaged. There’s a nice pool, but its bar stayed empty and shut for both days we were there. No pool towels, and you have to enter through a service room full of cleaning gear. There’s no restaurant or room service, and we couldn’t even buy an extra bottle of water. Breakfast was odd, with rock-hard eggs and bread but no toaster. The breakfast pho, at least, was pretty tasty. Checking in was strange too. We went to the front desk and got sent to a small card table off to the side to check in with someone else. She took photos of our passports on her phone, which felt very unofficial. The room listing is misleading. It shows a photoshopped TV, but there’s no TV in the room. It also says there’s a safe, but when we tried it, staff told us it didn’t work. The shower itself is nice, but there’s nowhere to put soap. You either leave it on the floor or open the door mid-shower and get water all over the room. There’s a motion sensor light in the room that can’t be switched off and comes on whenever you move in bed. Meanwhile, the sensor light in the lift hallway goes off while you’re still standing there. The day before checkout, they messaged me on WhatsApp asking me to prepay the bill. I’m guessing that’s because people leave early and ask for refunds. At a minimum, I’d expect clean sheets at a four-star place.

We had a great time here for four nights in a Deluxe room. It was very spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The rooms are well insulated, so street noise didn’t come through. The location was ideal, just a short walk from Ben Thanh and Saigon Centre markets, as well as the War Remnants museum, Notre Dame Catherdral, and the Post Office. There are also plenty of restaurants, massage and spa places, and nail studios nearby. The staff were kind and hospitable, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. We definitely recommend the hotel.
The pool was fantastic, and the staff checked in with me regularly during our four-day stay. The buffet breakfast had plenty of options, and the coffee was good. The hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable, with really friendly staff. It was an easy walk to the places I wanted to see, including the iconic hotels used by the foreign press at the time and the Presidential Palace, which is well worth visiting. There are good local eateries on both sides of the hotel’s front entrance. Thanks, Tao Dan Hotel. I’d stay again someday.
We loved our stay. The room was clean and well maintained, and all the staff were really nice and accommodating, especially tuan khang. The location made it easy to get to lots of tourist destinations. Many thanks for helping us arrange transportation on our last day.
We stayed from 25-28/2/26 and were very happy with the experience. The rooms were lovely, clean and tidy, and everything felt new. Breakfast was fine, and there was a roof terrace. The location is amazing, and we can only recommend the place. I have to admit I’d been sceptical based on earlier ratings, but we contacted the hotel beforehand about the issues people had mentioned.
