The location felt safe and central, and the security staff were helpful with our luggage. The stay itself was awful, though. The rooms were dirty, damp, moldy, and leaking, and the air conditioner didn’t work. The reception area was cooler than the rooms. At 3am they offered us another room, then said the air felt the same in both. The receptionists were poor at both check-in and check-out. Who still uses fans in Vietnam?

We found the staff very nice and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was tasty with a different menu each day. The hotel is close to downtown, with plenty of restaurants and food vendors nearby, yet our room stayed clean and quiet despite the busy area. It’s easy to get a cab, and the price is reasonable for a place with all the usual amenities. There’s no pool or gym, and it isn’t a luxury hotel despite the name. The bathroom shower screen was a welcome touch since water didn’t splash across the floor like it does in many hotels in Vietnam. Rooms with a double bed and two twin beds are the same size, so choose a double if you want more space. One issue: the flower pots along the front steps left my wife without a railing to hold as she walked down.

The location is extremely good, and breakfast was a winner. Our room was beautifully done up and even had a tub. The staff were simply wonderful.

It’s easy and cheap to get to shops and tourist spots from this well located hotel, and the staff were friendly, accommodating, and happy to suggest cafes and places to visit. Breakfast runs from 6am to 9am and has a good variety, which was a nice extra. Our room was on the small side, but it was neatly presented, had the essentials, and still left enough room to move around and store our luggage. I’d recommend it if you’re exploring district 1 and 3, or anywhere around HCMC.
