The pictures set my expectations higher than the place delivered. It's about 6km from the tourist center, and I didn't like the neighborhood much. Our room had no TV, despite what the pictures seemed to show, though the trail of ants kept us entertained enough that we didn't really miss it. The bed had plastic wrapped around it under the sheets, which I'm not sure is customary. Quite disappointing overall.

Everything felt far away, which was the worst part. The hotel seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, in a slum, with no nice places to eat or go nearby. The bed was rock hard and still had its plastic wrap on it. Reception didn't speak English or take cards. The fancy rooftop cafe-bar was always closed, and the gym was dusty. Wouldn't recommend it.

I read the reviews and thought, umm, but I like to judge places for myself. I travel a lot and stay in budget and more upmarket places, and for the price this is a great place. The staff were friendly when I arrived and got me sorted quickly, just how I like it. The bar on the 4th floor was good for relaxing. The apartment had everything I needed to relax, shower and sleep. It was very clean and a good size, with a living room, a large bathroom and a fast shower. Soap and toothbrush paste came in sealed packets. The kitchen had a fridge, kettle, cooker and utensils, though I eat out. The mezzanine bedroom was clean, the bed was a good size for two, and there was a wardrobe. The ceiling is a bit low up there, but I was only sleeping there, so it didn't bother me. Security was good, with locked windows and a double door lock. Housekeeping came every day, changed the bedding and left fresh towels. There's good street food nearby, and getting to the city by Grab bike cost only 30 dong and was easy. I'll book again, no worries. Recommended.

Small, but it has what you need at a cheap price. Convenient, and a good fit if you like a homestay kind of setup.

I spent about four months here while studying abroad. It was close to school and gave me a roof over my head. That's about it. Meh!
