I booked in advance, but the staff were horrible. When I arrived, there were five-foot banners saying short-term stays in the building were prohibited by law. A worker for the owner tried to tell me it was safe through a Korean-to-English translation. I told him I wasn’t risking my visa.

A big room for the price, and the security was good. Nothing went missing. The location is good if you have something to do nearby. With all that room, though, it could use an extra chair and some more furniture.

A standard room for an overnight stay while waiting for a flight. There was hot water, but no free drinking water, and the corridor was quite dark.

Becky made my stay feel comfortable and memorable. She’s a sweet young woman, fluent in English, who always welcomed me with a kind smile and helped with anything I needed. She translated, arranged hand-wash laundry, and was a friendly face when I felt lost. She’s honest and trustworthy, and a real asset to the hotel. I hope management knows what a treasure she is. I stayed at The Lumiere for 20+ days during my Vietnam journey, after my hospital, Gangwhoo, recommended it. It was just a few minutes’ walk, two or three corners away, which gave me peace of mind since being near the hospital was my main concern. The rooms are simple but very clean. I chose housekeeping every other day. There’s a small fridge, sink, table, closet, bed, and bathroom, everything a traveler needs. Security is always there, and I felt completely safe leaving my luggage. They even have a scale that weighs bags up to 30kg, which helped when I was getting ready for my flight. Vietcombank is nearby for exchanging money, and there’s a vendor right outside selling delicious Vietnamese coffee. Checkout is at 12 PM, but reception let me leave my bags there until I headed to the airport. At $15 a night, the value is unbeatable. Thank you, Becky, for making my 30 days in Vietnam comfortable and supported. You’re a gem, and God bless you. In short, Khách sạn Lumiere is clean, safe, reasonably priced, and close to bệnh viện Ganwhoo and Vietcombank for money exchange. A lovely, enthusiastic receptionist speaks English, making it suitable for travelers.

The room was spacious, at least, but had no window or natural light, and smelled bad from the laundry room. I also wasn’t told in advance that they wanted to keep my passport while I stayed there, and I don’t understand why they needed it.
