The One Premium Hotel

The staff were pleasant and did try to help, which was the one decent part. The location could be a four if you can put up with the room. Water wouldn’t drain from the shower, so it became a little pool. The room smelled of smoke, the bedding had stains, and the mattress was hard as a yoga mat. Hygiene seemed to be optional. The nightclub next door played music late into the night, and the thin walls let every conversation from neighbouring rooms through. The air conditioning also stopped working now and then. Unforgettable, just for all the wrong reasons.

We left without staying and booked somewhere else. The hotel refused a full refund, offering only a partial one, so we accepted the loss. For similar money, there are better places without the noise, dirty rooms, missing items, pricing problems, and refund hassle. I can’t see how this place got four stars, and I’d strongly suggest booking elsewhere. We decided to leave soon after arriving because the room was dirty and the beds were very uncomfortable. There were no toiletries, despite the listing saying they were provided, and the towels were torn and visibly stained. Music from a venue across the street, listed as a restaurant, was extremely loud into the night. The price quoted in person was higher than the online rate we’d booked. The lift only went to the eighth floor, so guests on higher floors had to use the stairs for the rest, something that hadn’t been made clear before booking.

The rooms are nice and the location is handy, but it’s right by all the bars and clubs. At 2 a.m. the noise had my wall practically shaking, so sleeping was impossible. The hotel isn’t cheap, either. I’d stay farther away and take Grab instead.

We only stayed one night, even though we’d booked three. By the time we got settled it was around 11 to 11:30 p.m., and we left the next morning. I wouldn’t return or recommend it. We arrived from the airport at about 10:30 p.m., worn out, and found a small, messy hotel. At check-in they said the air conditioning was broken and sent us to another property the receptionist said he owned or managed. The person there was friendly, but the room was dirty and in bad shape. There was no soap, the walls were stained, and the sheets were marked. I didn’t feel comfortable showering. All night, we could hear people talking and walking in the hallway, along with noise from a nightclub opposite the building. By morning, rainwater was leaking through the bathroom ceiling, even though we weren’t on the top floor. The hallways were scratched and damaged, and the whole place felt neglected and unhygienic.
