Truong Son Hotel

The noise made it hard to rest before a midnight or dawn flight. Residents and people wandering the corridors were VERY LOUD, playing videos on their phones and singing at the top of their lungs. Singing is great, just not when you're trying to sleep before a flight. Twice, a group of kids banged on our door and jolted us awake. After a day there, my migraine had gotten worse. It was very affordable at 300K VND for a day, and about 5 km from the airport, but for me it wasn't worth it. Keep this in mind if you're about to take a long flight. The room felt old, like the 90s, but was relatively clean and dust free. Ants were the main problem. They got into my snacks, which I had to throw away. The bedding seemed somewhat clean and smelled like boiled sheets, though the decorative cushions didn't. I hardly ever write reviews, this might be my first, but the stay was remarkably painful and unpleasant, so I wanted to share my real thoughts.

We checked out early because the whole place smelled strongly of mold, and I'm not exaggerating. It is near the center and the airport, though if your taxi is on the opposite side of the road, the bridge means you may wait about 5 minutes. There were ants, a leaking sink, a broken toilet seat, and neither the Wi-Fi nor TV worked. The room didn't seem cleaned before we arrived, and the hotel is also used as a love hotel. They let us switch rooms, but the problems were much the same. When my sister got stuck in the elevator, they did nothing to help, then wanted to charge us and blamed us for breaking it. They were rude because we were foreigners and assumed we couldn't understand the language. Absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

We had a quiet room at the back of the building, and it was comfortable and very clean. Good WiFi and AC too. The staff were extremely helpful despite the communication challenge, and the service was excellent, with daily housekeeping offered.
