Vien Dong Hotel

Everything we needed was a short walk away, with convenience stores, pharmacies, and restaurants all within about 10 minutes. My mother and I spent six nights at the Vien Dong Hotel, and the staff made us feel at home, especially while she was recovering from dental surgery. Hau and Vuong, the doormen, were always so friendly. We had a couple of small room problems, including bath plugs that got stuck, but the team sorted them out quickly. It was a very good value stay, and the care we received made our first week in Vietnam comfortable for two first-time visitors. I really appreciate the team and can’t recommend the hotel highly enough. For the rest of our trip we moved elsewhere. Rivergate Residence and Opera Residence on booking.com both confirmed our bookings and then cancelled them, which made the Vien Dong Hotel’s service stand out even more. If you want a hassle-free stay, this place is a great choice. Much love and thanks to the team.

The location was fine, but the front desk was very unfriendly and offered little help. Around 7 in the evening, we got back to find a party on the top floor. It was so loud we couldn’t sleep, so I asked to switch rooms. The only response was that there were no rooms left. A hotel should make sure guests can get reasonable rest and offer some kind of solution when a problem comes up. This response showed no consideration and was unacceptable.

For a three-star hotel, this is very good value. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of fruit and both Vietnamese and European food. The afternoon buffet was affordable and good, though it’s a shame that the dishes are all vegetarian. It’s right in the center, beside the main entertainment street.

Everything felt clean, and the staff, from the bellboys to reception, were helpful and made me feel comfortable. The hotel is also an easy walk from shops, markets, and loads of restaurants. The buffet breakfast had a great range of choices. I’d happily recommend this place.
