The tours and activities were well organized and a fun way to meet other travelers while seeing the area. The hostel had a relaxed, social vibe, but was still good for getting a night's sleep. Rooms were spotless and comfortable after long travel days, and the staff were welcoming and always glad to help with recommendations or bookings. Big shout out to Alix, Kan, Ken and Phoebe, they're legends. I'd definitely return and 100% recommend Base Backpackers Hostel for a clean, friendly, fun stay.

The rooms themselves were fine, but I wouldn't recommend booking buses here. I paid 770k for a sleeper bus to Phnom Penh and got shuttled to a regular one instead. The bus smelled, was very dark, and had foil over the window so you couldn't enjoy the view. I was the only foreigner, which also seemed a bit suspicious. On the pub crawl, after a couple of affordable stops with free shots, they took the group to overpriced places, including Tiger beer in a can for 85k.

The mix of social and party atmosphere with time to chill felt right, and I'd stay here again. The AC was brisk, which felt good after a 35 Celsius day, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly fast. I read some lower-rated reviews, but none of the things they mentioned happened to me.

The staff are lovely and go out of their way to help, and the dorms and bathrooms are clean. It was easy to book the tunnel tour through the hostel at a good price. They also run well-organized pub crawls every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Great location!

Laundry was good here, and the evening free beers are a nice touch. The rooms are decent value, and you get your own full-size bathroom with a shower, which is nice in a hostel. There are plenty of bathrooms too.
