Yelo Hostel & Cafe

The rooms were cramped, with one large bed and barely any space to move, and we later found out we’d been overcharged. Worse, our clothes, souvenirs, and a cell phone were stolen, and we were harassed so much that we wanted to go home. The staff were extremely rude, racist, and unhelpful. One was named Khwan. Do yourself a favor and book another hostel.

We got there at 3 a.m. after checking that late check-in was possible and being told they were open 24/7. It took 40 minutes to get a room, and it was filthy. They said they had no clean sheets and wouldn’t clean it, returned our money, and sent us to the hotel across the street. We had already carried three big bags up to the third floor and back down the stairs around 4 a.m. They were very rude and didn’t apologize, just told us to leave. I wouldn’t stay here even if it were the last hotel available.

The bedding wasn’t clean, and the walls were dirty and covered in spider webs. There’s no window or ventilation in the stuffy, smelly room, and the bathroom has no extractor fan. Do not stay here.

The room was clean and close to the center, and the staff were really friendly. They helped me with everything. I’ll come back to Yelo Hostel.
