The only small drawback for us was no fridge in the room, so we kept topping up our beer at the convenience store directly opposite. The staff were keen to make sure we had no problems, and we got a great rate through an online special. There's a cafe at 271, with breakfast plus coffee and small meals during the day. Be aware that 271 and 278 are two hotels almost facing each other. My friend accidentally booked 271 while I was at 278. The receptionist said 271 was newer, though when I visited I couldn't tell. Both places were very clean and up to date. After our two booked nights, we tried a comparable nearby place. That was a mistake; I should have paid a little more and stayed here. At the other place, being told not to flush toilet paper and to put it in a bin was a bit confronting, and there was mould and stale cigarette smoke.

I stayed in the largest room and really liked it. The service was great, the staff were great, and the location in the middle of D1 is handy, just two blocks from Ben Thanh market.

The nail shop on the first floor was cheap enough, but the work wasn't skilled. You get what you pay for. One staff member was unpleasant too, and seemed to be complaining to another employee about the design I'd asked for.

The bathroom was clean and up to Western standards. The room was comfortable and clean too, with a LED TV, cool air conditioning, and plenty of outlets for travelers.
