The beds were comfortable, and the area stayed surprisingly quiet at night, so we slept well. Our room was spacious and clean, with a real view of the area, working AC, and a fridge. The outside might not look very inviting, but inside the atmosphere felt cozy and family-like. The staff were always smiling and spoke French and English. I wish we'd had more time to stay.
We decided against the buffet after seeing that hardly any food seemed to be left, maybe because we arrived late. First they asked 200k per person, then offered it for 150k. We went for Pho instead, but the soup was just okay and made with cheap instant noodles. The beer and coffee were heavily overpriced, and staff wouldn't show us a menu. Check Google, there are plenty of nearby places with good ratings. Avoid this place at all cost!
We booked a bus and tour here, then waited more than two hours for the bus to show up. The whole thing was ridiculous and badly organized. The AC smelled moldy when we switched it on at night, and we saw a few roaches. Staff seemed stoned or drunk most of the time, with bloodshot eyes, and weren't very helpful or responsive. Do NOT stay here or book tours, buses, or trips through them.
After our night bus had a problem because of another company, the staff were very helpful. The rooms were decent enough and had air con. The bed was comfortable by Asian standards, firm but not one of those rocks I've slept on elsewhere.
She sold us a bus ticket from Tam Coc to Hanoi airport but didn't mention that the bus wouldn't stop at the airport entrance. Even though we'd booked a ride to the airport, it dropped us 3 km away. The commission for booking that local bus was huge, and she never said it was a local bus. Please be honest.
