Hoa Lu Hotel

The staff were nice, but I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep here. Noise carries throughout the hotel. On the first night, more than 100 kids were staying there and screaming and yelling all night. The next night, loud bad music and whistling from the night market came into my room. The bathroom fixtures also made it clear the rooms hadn’t been cleaned properly. I don’t understand the high reviews.

I paid VND3.6M for two nights, but left at 10pm on the day I arrived and found a much better option nearby. The hotel looks nice outside and the location is very good, which makes it a shame the stay was so bad. I checked out just a couple of hours after checking in. In VIP Room 409, the door was so difficult to close when I went out. The room phone didn’t work when I tried to call reception. I’d seen a review from a year earlier saying the same thing, but it still hadn’t been fixed. The sheets looked yellowish and not clean, and the bathroom smelled bad from poor ventilation when I first entered. There was only one receptionist handling everything. When I asked for an iron, I was told to wait a couple of hours because another guest had it.

The shower water was barely warm, with no steam, so there was no hot water. I reported it at reception and staff checked, then said it wouldn’t get any hotter. I had to book another room at the Milan hotel across the street to get a hot shower.

I paid an 800k deposit to book the room, but when I arrived the next day to check in, they said I’d only deposited 700k. There was no hot water either, so I booked another hotel across the street at Milan to get a hot shower.
