Mi Mi Backpackers Hostel

I don't usually write reviews and don't expect much from budget hotels, but after booking through Agoda, we arrived at 5 P.M. and the woman said the price wasn't the one listed on Agoda. She said she didn't care about the Agoda price, only the booking price, and wanted 300,000 dong more. The room was too small, and the towel was just a hand towel. Do yourself a favor and don't book this place.

Getting there was a bit tricky, but once we found it, the location worked perfectly for us. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, services, and travel agencies nearby, and the hostel staff can set up a couple of different budget trips. The rooms are basic and a little odd, and at least one bed creaked a lot. Breakfast is small, just tea or coffee, an egg, two pieces of toast, and butter, but it’s included each morning. Wi-Fi is free throughout, and laundry service is available. The staff don’t speak English, but that didn’t bother us. Good value for the money.

The location is good, but the awkward layout means you have to walk through the living room where the family watch TV and an older woman sleeps. I was short-changed 100k by the woman I paid, so be careful. Maybe they’re trying to rip you off, or maybe they just don’t count change properly. Either way, the hosting put me off returning. There are better places nearby at the same price. I think my previous review was deleted.

Breakfast was the worst part for me: they served toast with mold on it. I was on the top floor, and whenever they did laundry the noise drove me crazy. The staff were often grumpy, pointed at me with their fingers, and called me “You! You!” Their English was very limited. One day I asked if they could replace the remote control battery, and they suddenly got angry and said I had broken it. Don’t stay here!
