Hoang Hai Hotel & Restaurant

The cleaning was already far from spotless when we arrived, and they didn’t clean the room during our stay even though their advertising says they do. We also asked for a late checkout and were refused, despite the hotel being nearly empty. It looks nice at first glance, but it isn’t worth 500k dong. They speak English, yet communication was surprisingly difficult, and the staff came across as desperate for money rather than friendly. The hotel being so empty makes us wonder why.

Our motorbike was parked inside the HOTEL, but someone siphoned out all the gasoline. We only made it about two blocks before realizing the tank was completely empty, and an old man sold us enough fuel to get off the street. Back at the hotel, the manager denied that his staff would do anything like that and refused to give us money. What made me even angrier was that I’d reminded him before we left that we still had to pay our dinner bill before checking out. I wouldn’t recommend this place to travelers, especially anyone with a motorbike.

For $20 to $25 a night, you can get a good hotel. That’s very cheap.

The food was lovely, and the hotel felt really good and cosy.
