Trang An Heritage Garden

We loved how clean the room was, and it was ready right when we arrived. The location was great too, with lots of scenic spots nearby. The staff really made the stay, they were kind and got to know our group. Hi from Toronto! They even kept our bags and passports safe while we were out for the day. Breakfast and coffee were free, which was a nice extra. We’ll definitely come back for another Trang An Vietnam trip. ♾️/10, can’t recommend it enough!

The staff made us feel like family, and Duc, Flower and the others went out of their way to help. They surprised us for a birthday and gave us really useful ideas for things to do. The place is comfortable, the food is tasty, and the prices are friendly. It’s already been one of the highlights of our trip. They’re planning improvements to some rooms and cabins soon, so I can only see the homestay getting better. I’d happily recommend staying here.

The neighboring construction site was loud from early morning until late, which took away from the stay. Our room was very large but had so little furniture that our bags and most of our things ended up on the floor. We got to know another couple there, and apparently their room had the opposite problem, too much furniture. On the plus side, the room was clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful, and the bus they arranged was the best coordinated one of our whole trip. We could borrow free single-speed bikes, and renting a scooter was easy to coordinate.

The homestay is a bit away from central Ninh Binh, but I felt it was worth the distance. We arrived at 4am with my family after taking a sleeper bus from Sapa, and even though we hadn’t booked ahead, the staff welcomed us, got a room ready, and gave us a discount. Buc speaks really good English and kept checking that we were happy with the room and food. He also suggested good times and places for nearby attractions. Our room was spacious and well kept, with a king-sized bed, a large bathroom, hot showers, and air conditioning that worked well. We liked the fried rice and bun nem thit too, both were flavourful, easy to eat, and affordable. Breakfast was included, with plenty of choices, fruit, and drinks. The view is stunning, and there’s a deck by the water where you can sit and enjoy it. You can rent motorcycles or borrow bikes to explore the island.
