Cat Homestay

I really liked the place! The security guard was very nice, and the room was lovely and fully equipped. Its green surroundings felt distinctive and interesting. When I went to Hue the next day, I already had this place booked, so I didn’t need to look anywhere else.

The owners were so enthusiastic and friendly, and I enjoyed this beautiful Hue homestay so much that I spent most of my time relaxing and only took one photo. It is a bit far from the city center, though, so bear that in mind if a long trip puts you off.

I’ve tried both Cat Homestay locations, Minh Mang and Dien Bien Phu, and I’d recommend the Dien Bien Phu branch. They’re both a little far from the city center, though Dien Bien Phu is slightly nearer. At the Minh Mang branch I stayed in the Cam room for 600k VND/night. It was cool, quiet, and surrounded by greenery, but also quite dark. The yellow light made it feel cozy, but wasn’t convenient for us girls who need white light for makeup. Dust was easier to see under it, and there were several gaps in the window frame that made it a little hard to open and close. The homestay gave us a very private space from check-in to checkout. They also rent motorbikes and offer late checkout for 100k VND/hour. The road to Minh Mang is currently being repaired, so it’s rough and dusty, and there aren’t many shops or entertainment spots nearby.

I loved walking into the lush garden. Even though Hue is so hot, the homestay felt much cooler inside, especially in the kitchen, probably thanks to all the plants and stone walls. Cat is close enough for me too, about a seven-minute drive straight to the central area. It’s near the mausoleums and Tu Hieu Pagoda, and Hue’s roads are easy to get around. The staff were friendly and always smiling. I didn’t expect to find such a lovely little place in Hue that suited my taste so well and was this affordable. I’ll definitely come back if I get the chance.
