The location inside the Hue Citadel was a real convenience. I could walk to the Imperial Citadel (the King’s Palace) in about four minutes. My room felt damp when I arrived, which was understandable given Hue’s naturally high humidity at this time of year and the recent flood that had affected the area. When I mentioned it, the friendly, attentive staff quickly moved me to a larger, brighter, more comfortable room. Their kindness made me feel well looked after. Guests visiting in other seasons may not run into the same moisture issue. Dainoi Homestay is charming, with great service and lovely people, and I’d happily stay again.

I left after one night and got a full cash refund, but I wouldn’t stay again unless the mold problem is fixed. Sleeping in those conditions could be dangerous, especially for anyone with respiratory or autoimmune issues. The room had severe dampness and widespread mold. I went out on an 11-hour tour and came back to soaked floors, with even more moisture and mold on the walls. The dehumidifier and air purifier were there, but nobody explained why they were needed or how to use them. The homestay should have told guests about the problem, particularly after I’d checked with them that Huế was no longer flooded following the recent typhoon. The room itself was nice, the staff were friendly, and the location was convenient. The listing also said there was a washer and dryer, but I was told those were no longer available.

We only stayed one night, and the room was spotless and well looked after. The rooftop patio was a nice place to spend time, and the location worked really well for us.

The owner was so accommodating. After I had a minor motorbike accident, they offered to help translate the doctor's advice, even though I'd already left the hospital. It was reassuring to know someone was looking out for me beyond the usual business side of things. I felt safe and comfortable during my one-night stay, and choosing this place was the best decision of my trip.

The café could get busy, but the staff still found time for us and even did our laundry for a very reasonable fee. We did notice a few tiny humidity flies in the room. They’re common around the city, though, and didn’t bother us much. We stayed several nights in the 20m2 room and really enjoyed it. It looked just like the photos, and the bed was comfortable. The street noise didn’t come through. There was AC, a small kettle, a fridge, and a large bathroom, plus a complimentary drink when we arrived. The TV had plenty of movies, including Vietnamese classics.
