Hong Thien 1 Hotel

Even with its convenient inner-city location, the room was very quiet. It was clean and had strong water pressure, though the double bed was small. We were welcomed warmly as two backpackers staying for one night, and breakfast was good. The next day, after checking out, they helped us rent bikes and gave us a city map.

The hotel is right in the heart of Hue, and I recommend it. The rooms were comfortable, the staff very friendly and hospitable, and there’s a nice pool too. Breakfast was good.

The family running hotel Thien 1 were kind, accommodating, and happy to help. They offer activities, transport, bike rental, and other services. We took transport to hoi an, which included an English-speaking guide for 4/5 local tourist spots and water, all for a combined price of 280,000 per person. That was cheaper than anywhere else we found. The pool was clean and nice, with towels and an outdoor shower. The location is just off one of the walking streets, but it was very quiet in our room. Other guests were loud from 7am - 11pm, though that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. Our room was basic, small, and convenient, so large suitcases might be hard to store. It had a great shower with hot and cold water and amazing pressure. The bed was quite firm, and the pillows were small and hard. They made the bed, changed the towels and sheets, emptied the bins, and provided water every day. Breakfast was available either in a package or for 50,000VND per person. Nothing fancy, but nice and convenient. A good fit for backpackers or travellers looking for a cheap, basic stay with a pool.

The family-run hotel had amazing customer service, bright hallways with lots of windows, and large rooms with AC and fans. The pool was refreshing, and towels were available in the lobby. There were plenty of breakfast choices, plus help with tours, taxis, and restaurants. I only wish I’d stayed longer than 2 nights. I’ll come back.
