The location made evening walks easy, with the Imperial City and Perfume River nearby, while the hotel is away from the noisy bar district. Since it's on a main street, rooms facing the courtyard are quieter. My room was large, with separate sleeping and living areas, and the bed was soft and comfortable. Breakfast in the courtyard adds to the classic feel, and the inner courtyard itself is the hotel's best feature. The atmosphere is elegant from the moment you enter this beautiful French colonial building, which is over a century old. Still, the façade, fountain, and courtyard could use maintenance, and renovation work starts early in the morning. I would recommend it for the history and distinctive atmosphere.

The pool was a nice spot to unwind, and we had fun with the billiards and foosball tables. We really enjoyed our two nights here. The hotel's history is fascinating: it first opened in 1901 and is one of Vietnam's oldest. I was especially impressed by the courtyard, with its lush plants, fountains, and hundred-year-old trees.

Dinner in the garden was lovely. We had pork with mushrooms and onions alongside fried rice, and it was delicious. The bill for two came to £15.00 and included dinner, two craft beers, a Manhattan, mineral water, and coffee. Service was excellent, and we ended the evening with a free game of billiards. We'd stopped by the beautiful hotel the previous afternoon to sit by the pool and have drinks. I especially liked the craft beer on tap, and we decided to return that evening for dinner.

The rooms are big and have a museum-like feel, and breakfast in the central courtyard makes it feel like the 1920s. The staff are very nice. It's a charming old place in a great spot, a bit ramshackle, but easy to forgive at a reasonable price. Have fun with it.

I spent six evenings here and had one of my most pleasant hotel stays. The beautiful building has spacious, clean rooms, and the service is kind and attentive. Most of the staff spoke very good English. I found the Wi-Fi reliable. Breakfast has a wide selection and is served in a lovely courtyard. I spent some very happy evenings there with friends, perhaps over too many Martinis. My one gripe: housekeeping woke me at 8:30 when I wanted to sleep in. The do not disturb hanger solves that, and I hope to return someday.
