I loved this place. I arrived outside at 6am after a night bus, before reception opened at 7am, and the host, Viet, spotted me and opened the door almost right away. He welcomed me with fruit and tea and let me shower before check-in. The family clearly puts a lot of care into running the place. Breakfast was included and a nice chance to meet other travelers. The dorm was basic, but the mattress was comfortable, the bunks didn’t squeak, and the showers were hot. It had a friendly, relaxed feel. I’d wondered how the reviews could be so good, but now I understand.

Viet, the owner, was really helpful with any information I needed, and the welcome fruit and good breakfast were lovely. I rented a scooter with them and did the Hai Van Pass by easy rider, which was an amazing experience. The dorms were comfortable, and Hue Happy Homestay is perfectly placed within walking distance of the Citadel and close to excellent restaurants. I had a great time, thanks for everything!

We only booked one night, but wished we’d stayed longer. It’s a friendly family-run hostel with a really nice atmosphere. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the hot shower was the best we’d had since starting our travels. The owner helped sort out our bus to the next stop and gave great recommendations for food and things to see in the city. Breakfast pancakes were amazing. I’d definitely stay again.

The owner greeted us with snacks and tea, and was super helpful arranging buses. Breakfast was yummy too. It’s a beautiful little hostel in an excellent location, with comfy beds and everything clean. I’d recommend it.

The owner made the place feel warm and welcoming, and I had a really enjoyable stay at Hue Happy Home Stay. Breakfast came free with the already affordable price, which was a lovely extra. I’d happily recommend this hostel to people visiting Hue.
