Lam Bao Long Hotel

Being so close to the walking street was handy, and the room was a good size with a comfortable bed. But the sheets and bed had stains, the aircon seemed worn out and took ages to cool the room, and cleanliness needed work. For what we paid, there weren't many facilities.

The hotel staff member was kind and very apologetic, but I'd avoid buying a bus ticket here because the service uses Camel Travel. We paid 200.000VND each for Hoi An tickets, which seemed expensive beside local prices, then waited nearly two hours before being told the bus had forgotten us and would come back. That wasn't true. Another half hour later a car took us to the Camel Travel agency, which I think handles operations. They apologized, but offered no solution. Three hours in, we had to sort out our own plan B to reach Hoi An that day. We went to the south bus station and took a bus to Da Nang for half the price, with locals paying even less.

The location worked well for the Citadel and bars, but the beds were damp when we turned in. It made sleeping pretty difficult. The hotel itself was just okay, nothing special, and damp beds really aren't great for a hotel.

A good budget pick, with breakfast included for a fair price. The staff were friendly, the place was clean, and the beds were good. We also had a TV and fridge, plus fresh towels every day.
