The price was fair, 290,000 VND for two beds, and there were well-placed outlets and plenty of room for our things. But the room was smaller than the photos showed, with no window facing the street. The pillows were tiny and flat, and there were duvet covers but no actual blankets. Sound carried freely, and the mirror was so low I could only use it sitting down. They also took our key every time we went out. The welcome was rough. Before we had even gone inside, they were shouting at us in Vietnamese and repeatedly demanding our passports. As we left, the owner hovered over my husband while he packed our things onto the bike, although my child and I were sitting right there at reception. It felt as if she thought we might leave without paying.

The room was smaller than the picture, and the pillows and towels smelled bad. If you're travelling by car, there's nowhere to park, despite what they tell you. What bothered me most was the owners' attitude. They first said there'd be no extra charge, then asked me for 60,000 VND, about 2.35 USD, when I paid. The money itself wasn't the issue. They seemed so foxy and deceitful.

The staff at XAM House Hotel were the best, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. We had a great time and highly recommend it.

A quiet, clean place close to the sea and the city center. Come and see for yourself. Don't worry about the price, it's so cheap.

I had a confirmed room booked with check-in between 1 PM and 7 PM. A little after 3 PM, while I was on my way, the owner messaged that they'd rented it to someone else because I supposedly hadn't answered the phone or paid a deposit. They seem extremely opportunistic about how they do business. They say check-in is until 7 PM, but sell the room whenever they feel like it. The owner even argued they could do that because they hadn't collected a deposit. Don't rely on their booking confirmations. They could turn you away at any time, even if you booked months ahead.
