Shine Hue Hotel 2

Cozy and really nice, especially for the price ❤️

I called the hotline ahead of time to ask whether a room was available, and we agreed I’d check in 30 minutes later. When I arrived exactly then, they said the room had gone to someone else because I hadn’t paid a deposit. Nobody had mentioned a deposit on the call. They could also have called to tell me another guest had taken it, so I wouldn’t have made the trip. A disappointing experience at Shine Hue Hotel. One star for reception.

The hotel is in the central area for bars, nightlife, and the walking street, but the place itself felt neglected and old. The room smelled damp and had mosquitoes and lots of cockroaches. The sheets and towels looked dirty, so I didn’t dare use them. The bathroom was damp and slippery, and hot water was rare, even early in the morning. The water looked cloudy, so I had to use bottled water to brush my teeth. The air conditioner and electrical counter were loud, and poor soundproofing made the room noisy. During a stay of several days, I didn’t see staff clean it daily. One male receptionist was helpful and gave guests good directions.

The room was airy and spacious, and it was convenient for getting around the city center. Nearby bars did make it somewhat noisy. We had to wait with children and elderly people because the previous guests, who had checked out at noon, were asked to stay until 3 pm. We only found out about the delay when we arrived at 2 pm. The receptionist’s attitude was terrible, with a Hue accent. In the end, the manager and another receptionist had to step in to sort it out.
