An Hoa Residence

An Hoa Residence was beautiful, and all the staff went out of their way to help. They even upgraded us for free because there was open space, which was very considerate. One staff member had finished her shift but stopped when she saw us biking into town, to ask whether we needed help finding anything or translating. She really didn't have to do that, but she genuinely cared. Our villa had a big kitchen, several bedrooms, a pool, sauna, and hot tub. It was just a 10 second walk to the beach, which had soft sand. A great fit for a large group or family if you want a resort feel along with privacy. We had a great time.

I liked the style, even though the place is old, but it needs quite a few improvements. The chairs and beds were covered in dust, and the air conditioners were mostly hot, except for one that was freezing. Bathrooms felt very old and damp. The service made me uneasy too. Helpers had a separate entrance to the villa and would suddenly appear in the garden without warning. I was quite frightened, even after being told they were looking after the pool and barbecue area. Some doors also wouldn't lock properly.

The owner and staff were very accommodating, always around and ready to help. It's good value for a large group. I took one star off because of the food. We ordered two portions of meat in a clay pot, and it was all very fatty. We could barely eat it and ended up wasting it. Maybe that's just how the local dish is, but it didn't work for us.

The villa was quiet and relaxing, both inside and by the beach, but only one other family was staying at the resort, so I can't say if it would feel the same when crowded. The building and some of the things in it felt a bit old, though not dirty, and the decor was kind of strange. They may charge for small items like cooking oil, soy sauce, and ice. The prices seemed fair, but paying for those bits can feel awkward. We had a 650sqm, four-floor villa with a sea view for our group of 12. It had three bedrooms, and we paid $68 a night for six extra beds and breakfasts. We arrived at 10.30 am and the villa was ready. The manager also let our drivers stay with us, since there was no room for drivers. There was a living room, kitchen, and private pool on the first floor, a huge balcony bedroom on the second, two more bedrooms on the third, and a terrace at the top. The kitchen had nearly all the basics, plus a very large oven, big fridges, a large dining table, barbecue, desk with PC, washing machine, karaoke, organ, tabletop football, and a cradle. I checked it all and everything worked. They checked details with me before and after we arrived, and offered to clean the kitchen after every meal or party. I'd recommend it for a short family or group break, relaxing, or team building. There aren't many activities nearby, but Vung Tau is only 30 minutes away. The price was fair at $50 per person per night.
