Homestay Khoa Chaudoc

We originally chose this place because it was so close to family, but the stay was unpleasant. Reviews had led us to expect free laundry, but when we asked, the owners said they didn't offer it. We understand that things can change, though they weren't very friendly when telling us. My family paid for the room while we were away on a trip for a couple of days, because we wanted to leave our luggage there. When we returned, there were quite a few mosquitoes in the room. We told the owners we felt uncomfortable and planned to check out the next morning. They snapped and got extremely upset. We hadn't been told of any policy against changes or cancellations, and we tried to be understanding since it seemed like a financial issue for them because we'd be leaving two days earlier than planned. After things calmed down, we agreed to pay for the entire stay. Then the owners changed their minds and said to pay only for the time we stayed. The whole interaction felt unprofessional.

Vi and her mother were lovely, friendly, and helped us sort out US dollars, bikes for the day, and good local places to eat. My friends and I felt very welcome, and we would have stayed longer. I can't recommend the place enough.

The rooms are clean and quiet, and this is an excellent homestay in central Chau Doc. The people here are nice and ready to help you with your trip in the area.

Vi was a great help with advice on local attractions and lots of food recommendations. We had a lovely two-night stay. To end the trip, Vi's parents gave us an impromptu palm reading, with fabulous readings to cheer us up for the road ahead. Everyone at Khoa was lovely. This is a wholesome homestay I'd highly recommend.
