Lacasa Sapa Hotel

The staff were so kind, and they went out of their way to help us, especially with a toddler in tow. Breakfast was great and the location was perfect. We’d definitely come back!

The room was spacious and room service was quick and efficient. I also found the staff cool, and breakfast was very good. Ask the egg man to crisp up the bacon, though, because it was inedible. The lights were the most annoying part: despite about 10 switches around the place, they were either all on or all off. The doors were really noisy and wouldn’t close properly. We had a damp smell when we first arrived, a leaky bathroom ceiling (see pic), and a toilet seat that seemed sized for children. Public areas were poorly cleaned too. Rubbish left in the smoking area was still there hours later, and yesterday the toaster was jammed with cheese and ham on bread for more than the hour we were there (see pic). Just five minutes ago, I told a woman not to put cheese and ham on top of bread in the toaster because it jams it for everyone. She went to the staff, who did it for her! 😜 So, three stars from me.

There are plenty of halal food options within a 5-10 minute walk, and the location was a real plus for us. The receptionist was friendly from the moment we arrived, asked how we were doing, and made sure our requests were handled. Everyone was helpful whenever we needed something. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the simple breakfast was a nice start to the day. There’s no lift, and you do have to climb a slope, but that wasn’t much of a problem for us. The hot water was very hot and couldn’t be adjusted, which was the only small drawback. We had a great stay and would recommend it for the service and convenient location.

The street-facing room had a balcony, but the windows didn’t seal well and there were visible gaps around the edges. During the day the noise was manageable. At night, though, the honking, backfires, and traffic made it really hard to sleep. Apart from that, I found Lacasa Sapa Hotel good value. Reception and breakfast staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. I didn’t try the spa downstairs, but its prices looked like the lowest I saw in Sapa. There’s a convenience store beside it. Sun Plaza, where you can catch the monorail to Fansipan, is a short walk away, and there are lots of places to eat nearby. Sapa Lake is about a 10-minute walk.
