I was able to sleep despite some noisy guests, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. There are four shared balconies across three floors, a large garden at the back, and even a gym, so under different circumstances it could be a lovely, affordable stay. But it wasn’t what I expected or wanted. I picked it for the low price and convenience, assuming it would be a good coffee spot. The cafe never opened while I was there. It was Saturday morning, and when I checked out around 10, no one was in the coffee shop area. It also isn’t a homestay, it’s a basic hotel with frosted glass doors and thin walls. I made some wrong assumptions, so I take my share of the blame.

The room I stayed in felt unfinished, and the amenities need a lot of improvement. Ventilation was poor, some wiring was exposed, and the lighting wasn’t good. The location and price are the main positives. There’s also a coffee place on the second floor if you’d like to use it.

We only stayed one night while checking out the area, and it worked out fine for that. The hotel is in central Mang Den, close to shops and restaurants, and the staff are helpful. The room is basic by local service standards, so cleanliness may not meet everyone’s expectations. There’s hot water in the bathroom, which is useful when temperatures drop.

I spent a month here during my motorcycle trip. The rooms have been updated, the bathroom was spectacular, and the hot water was amazing. I’d recommend it, and I think it’s the best place in town.
