The location made it easy to get to the beach, and it’s right in the city center. The staff were all so friendly and always willing to help. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and there’s a rooftop pool. I loved the free breakfast and the happy hours with free shots at the rooftop bar. Much love to Queenie the bartender atp! The staff were the only bright spot for me. The lady at the front desk and the night-shift guy were professional, kind, and genuinely helpful. They’re much better than the way this place is managed. The rooms felt like cramped 2-square-meter boxes, with no windows or air, and the online photos seemed completely unreal. There were no lockers, kettle, soap, or bathroom towel. That lack of basics felt stingy and disrespectful to travelers. I’ve stayed in places from mountain huts in Myanmar to rooftops in Laos over years on the road, and this owner seemed completely disconnected from the business. It felt built to take advantage of people passing through who wouldn’t return. There are 3-4 other hostels on this very street for the same price where you can get a locker and towel and be treated decently. I spent the night waiting for sunrise so I could get out. Unless your only other choice is a rock in the rain, save your money and dignity and avoid this place. Calling it a "Backpacker Hostel" feels like a marketing scam.

The room felt like a converted prison cell, only 2-3 square meters, with no ventilation, freezing AC, and dozens of people crammed into a space that didn’t seem designed for humans. The "Backpacker Hostel" label made me expect something else, but it seemed to lure tourists into a cramped, windowless box. There were no lockers, kettle, soap in the toilets, or towels. The owner seemed so cheap that even soap might bankrupt them. That felt disrespectful to travel culture. I’ve traveled through Vietnam and Asia for years, and this is the stingiest place I’ve encountered. The lady at reception and the night-shift guy were the only good part. They were legends, incredibly kind and hardworking, and deserve better than representing such a poorly managed hostel. Plenty of nearby places cost the same and offer basic dignity. If you care about your sanity and hygiene, stay elsewhere. If it’s not raining, the sidewalk might be more comfortable.

The room was huge and had AC. They were great with laundry too, even attaching the plastic connecter to my socks so they wouldn’t get lost. They also let you use the showers before or after checkout. The lobby has no AC, though the fans work well. And stay away from the dog, cute as he looks, because he has a history of biting people.
