I stayed at La Villa for a couple of weeks, and the staff started to feel like family. The location is superb, just a stone’s throw from the beach. The rooms are clean and neat, quiet inside, and have functional bathrooms with beautiful rock wall interiors. Generally, there weren’t any issues, and you can talk things over with the staff. Washing machines may be available for longer-term residents. The hotel restaurant has social events almost every day, including Latin dancing, quizzes, gigs, and karaoke, so there’s entertainment right there.

The bed was comfortable and clean, the air conditioning worked well, and there was plenty of space to hang clothes. The bathroom was usable, with nice brass shower fittings and hot water in the shower, though the sink's hot tap didn't work. Water also spread around the toilet because the shower wasn't walk-in style. There was no soap, and one towel had several red stains that might have been blood or rust, so I wouldn't use it. The room did have a hairdryer, comb, toothbrushes and shampoo sachets. The location is a real plus, in an alley off the main road and about 100 metres from the sea. Breakfast was just okay: an omelette, two small pieces of bread, fruit, and excellent coffee. I'd expected more choice, perhaps a buffet or full English breakfast with vegetarian options, based on the hotel's messages. Maybe there was a language issue, since I only speak English and the hotel seemed to cater mainly to Russian speakers. Breakfast starts at 9am, later than at the other Nha Trang hotels I've stayed at recently, where it began around 6 or 6.30. Getting settled was frustrating. I had booked through Agoda, which had always charged me in advance on my previous 10 or 15 bookings, but the receptionist wanted payment at check-in and quoted 94k Dong more than agreed. I had to find my receipt before he believed me. In room 208 on the second floor, the key card failed, and there was no elevator. A maid let me in and went to get another card, so I was left in the dark without electricity for a bit. Then my socks got soaked in about half an inch of cold water across the room, presumably because the window had been left open in the heavy rain. The maid mopped it up, but I tripped on two broken floor tiles sticking up while closing that window. That's a real hazard, especially for kids. Only about half of the dozen or so lights worked, which also felt like poor maintenance. There was a kettle, two cups and a teapot, but no tea, coffee or sugar. I needed help figuring out how to plug the kettle in; someone at the restaurant said to insert the plug at a 45-degree angle, then twist. Two bottles of water and a good refrigerator with a small ice compartment were provided. I could also hear people shouting in Korean and Russian until 1am. The soundproofing wasn't good, though maybe I was just unlucky with the neighbours on 3-4 Feb 2026. It wasn't a happy stay at La Villa, and I doubt I'll come back.

Our plans for Tet were thrown off after the property asked us to pay cash upfront, then requested that we cancel because we hadn't paid. They said the room had already been sold. We had booked for the end of Tet because the listing said no prepayment was needed and payment could be made at the property, which usually lets us plan around cash withdrawals. We hadn't wanted to cancel, especially since the place seemed well reviewed. I understand cancellations during a busy period can be frustrating, but they shouldn't offer that payment option and then handle it this way. The whole thing was horrible service.

I booked through agoda and came to the hotel, but nobody acknowledged me for 20 minutes. The manager then said the room was taken. He didn't even apologize and was very rude.

The music from the bar downstairs was so loud that it was uncomfortable to be there, and it seemed to carry across the city. The staff appeared to find the volume amusing. I have no respect for how they treated customers and neighbours, and would recommend staying far away. After the response: Nobody warned me, and it went on for over 5 minutes without anyone speaking to me. I guess other people may have complained about the music too. The owner's Russian response makes me wonder whether the owner was one of the people amused by it. A city center can be noisy, including with loud music, but there are normal levels and then there was this. The star is justified by my own opinion and experience of the establishment, its attitude and service. That's what reviews are, unpaid and based on customers' experiences.
