This was the worst of the 20 hotels we tried in Nha Trang over two months. We change hotels every 2-5 days, and I found this place disgusting and misleading. Don’t ruin your vacation here. There are comfortable options in the area without paying more, so I’d skip it. I wouldn’t stay here even for 100k vnd a night. The smell was awful. The facilities were very old, and everything seemed to have absorbed cigarette smoke. After two nights, even our clothes and backpacks smelled so bad that we had to go to a laundry service. The whole floor smelled like an ashtray as soon as we stepped out of the elevator. They tried covering it with perfume spray, which made it seem even more like they thought this was okay. The room was extremely dark, with only a few lamps and no proper lighting. The bathroom was dirty and old, like something from the 70s, as other guests have said. The design they describe as traditional Vietnamese style with high grade wood and rattan furnishings seemed to trap dust. There were bits of food embedded in the tables, chairs, and bed frames, and we saw all kinds of insects, including ants and cockroaches. The air conditioner remote didn’t work, and the unit was loud, noisy, and cold. Without a working remote, we couldn’t adjust it, so it was either deal with the smell without air conditioning or put up with the noise. I got sick and woke the next morning with a strong headache, which affected the rest of my week. Hot water was only enough for one quick shower. Then we had to wait 20-30 minutes for the large, dirty heater to warm it again. They need to stop fooling people and close for a big renovation. The hotel seemed not to care about guests, just money and business. I suspect they boost fake reviews, because I can’t understand how it’s listed in the same price range as cleaner, newer, more modern hotels. This was an absurd experience for us in Southeast Asia, not just in Nha Trang or Vietnam.
I do like the large space, which makes this place appealing for a longer stay, but there were a lot of things I wish I’d known beforehand. Nearly three weeks after I moved in, they put an information sheet in my room, and even that paper was dirty. I was glad cleaning was scheduled every three days, though the standard was only about 5/10, like elsewhere in Vietnam. I also hadn’t been told at check-in that drinking water, toilet paper, shampoo, and other amenities were limited. I’m fine using my own supplies, but I needed to know before booking so I could consider another place. There are many Chinese guests here, with people changing every week, and I got the impression that around 80% of guests are Chinese and come regularly. Repairs also start at 8 am. If there’s an event near the beach, you can hear everything because the balcony sound insulation is very poor.
I stayed for four days and may book a few more later, because the price is reasonable and the service is good. The staff are usually busy, so I had to wait when I wanted to ask them something, haha. One staff member was especially kind and helpful. Ask her anything, but expect to wait a few minutes.
The staff are capable and very helpful, and the rooms are a good size with attractive furniture. The location is great. I’d take three stars off the room rating, though, because the bathroom units need replacing, street-facing windows need double glazing to block traffic noise, and internet speed is only 4Mbps, which isn’t acceptable for a modern hotel. Fixing those three things would bring better ratings and many more customers.
The location puts you right in the middle of everything. Staff are lovely, and the rooms are spacious and well looked after.
