Paris Nha Trang Hotel & Apartment

The pool was clean with clear water, and the hotel sits off the main road, so there isn't much traffic noise. Wi-Fi in my room was fast and stable. The dining area was well arranged, with dishes laid out neatly and separate serving utensils for each food. The restaurant staff worked hard and did a good job, 4.5 out of 5. Service and breakfast were both 4 out of 5. Housekeeping also gets 4 out of 5, though the bed linen smelled musty and felt damp after it was changed. The gym is listed as an amenity, but there's one treadmill that doesn't work, a cable machine that barely functions, and one dumbbell. That's not really a proper gym. Beach towels are scarce, and not everyone can get one. Sound insulation is weak. A shower in the next room makes a loud humming noise, and the doors slam loudly because there are no rubber seals between the door and frame. Simple rubber seals would reduce the noise for guests. Aside from these issues, things were fine and the general impression was positive. Fixing them would make the stay much better.

We paid 48€ for three nights, so we weren't expecting luxury, but the hotel still fell short of what was promised. Our room was booked as having “no view,” but the window was blacked out from outside, which made the space feel very uncomfortable. It looked clean at first, though up close the phone, chair, and headboard were old, yellowed, and clearly hadn't been properly cleaned for a long time. The fitness room was dirty and neglected, nothing like the photos at Booking.com. Even for a budget stay, the cleanliness and quality were disappointing. We can't recommend it.

When we checked in, the staff upgraded our room, which was kind of them. But they asked us to leave a good Google Maps/Agoda review in return, which might explain the other positive reviews. They also tried to keep our passports for the whole stay, and I had to argue to get them back. We found cockroaches in room 704 and told staff that night. They said the bugs must have come from outside and suggested we'd left food on the floor. They wanted us to wait in the room until we saw more before they'd move us. We stayed only one night, then changed hotels after that.

The rooms were tidy and clean, and the customer service was good. Breakfast buffet was good too. The pool water didn't look very clean, and the gym was a bit disappointing, just three machines ;) Otherwise, nothing to complain about and I'd definitely stay again.
