I came for a week at Seven Seas Hotel, then kept extending my stay until I reached the limit of my eVisa, three months. It felt well worth the price, and the staff are a big reason I liked it so much. Ms. Tran at reception is a star. Her English is workable, and she’s super helpful, so you don’t feel left on your own in Vietnam. The photo shows Ms. Tran on the left and a view from the balcony on the right. Getting around is easy: the city center is a three-minute walk away, and it’s a straight five-minute walk to the beach. Nearby, within about three minutes on foot, are what I thought were Nha Trang’s best sushi at Kiwami, best burger at Blue Sea Burger, and best blues live music at Mi Jack Bar.

The rooms were wonderful and really clean. I got lucky and met the hotel owner by the rooftop pool, too. He was a very cool, humble guy and offered me a drink.

For what I paid, I had no complaints about the quality, and I ended up adding three nights to my stay. They even offered a 3 a.m. wake-up call so I could catch my night train, which was a plus. The pool was alright, and there are lots of places to get food and drinks nearby. I paid around 210,000 VND per night in the low season.

The floor and desk were dusty, and there were lots of lizards and bugs. When I tried to use a tissue, a huge amount of dust fell onto the floor. The water was also horrifying: after I installed a new shower filter and bathed, I found many bugs and pieces of plastic in it. The hotel said the bugs might have come from our filter and refused a refund. We had booked five days, but after this happened on the first day, we asked to be refunded for the remaining four because we couldn’t stay with water that dirty. Staff said they couldn’t agree that the water was dirty and that no refund was possible. We got no refund for any of the five nights. This is the worst hotel of my life. Never go here, it will really upset you.
