Truong Thinh Hotel

The apartment is spacious, with big windows and a huge balcony, and nights are quiet and peaceful. The sea is five minutes away, the beach ten, and Northern Market is nearby. The Vietnamese family running the hotel are friendly, polite, and respectful. When I reported a problem or something broken, they fixed it quickly. They also dealt with the ants when they appeared, which seems hard to avoid in Vietnam. I stayed there for six months under contract. The price was reasonable for the apartment, but the kitchen is cramped and missing basics like a kettle, stove, fridge, and washing machine. That may be fine for a short stay, though a longer one means spending money on furnishings. There’s very little furniture, just the essentials, and the lighting is dim. Electricity is expensive.

We spent three months here and were satisfied, and grateful to the hosts, who were lovely and always ready to answer questions. The neighborhood is peaceful, and the sea, market, cafes, and restaurants are all walkable. From our room on the seventh floor, the mountain view was incredibly beautiful. The price felt right for the quality. They also offer a shuttle, which was very convenient and fantastically priced.

The only real downside for me was breakfast. I didn’t eat it at the hotel because it was terrible: rice cutlets, rice pancakes, a rice omelette, and rice with rice, all cold and dry. The hotel itself is very comfortable, though the distance to the sea is about average. It’s clean and new, and the sewage, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi all worked well. They cleaned thoroughly every day and changed the towels.
