Little Tam Coc

Ha’s hospitality was easily the highlight. She kindly helped with whatever we needed, from keeping the rooms clean and suggesting restaurants to renting motorcycles and booking our ride back to hanoi. We stayed for two nights. The room was quite clean, but the building is rustic and sound carries, so we could hear other guests coughing and moving their luggage. We ordered breakfast for convenience, which worked well since tam coc doesn’t have many breakfast options. The servings were generous, and the freshly cut fruit was lovely.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and we slept better here than almost anywhere else on our trip. Little Tam Coc is in a quiet, peaceful spot about a 5-10 minute walk outside the downtown area. Ha and her team were so friendly and helpful with our questions and needs. They let us check in early after our trip from Hanoi, did our laundry, and helped book a night bus to Phong Nha. They kept in touch to make sure we got there in time. A big thank you to them ❤️

The owner went out of their way to pick us up at the airport. We’d arranged the two-hour ride for a fee, but didn’t realize until we reached the hotel that it was the owner who had come to get us. Our mountain-view room was very comfortable, and the town’s restaurants were an easy walk away. The food in Tam Coc was very good. We had a fantastic stay, spending one day at Trang An on our own and the next on a tour to the National Park. Both days were really enjoyable.

The staff were genuinely kind and accommodating, and our son especially loved the cats. My family likes places that are clean but still feel homey. Resorts and manicured gardens feel too sterile to us, and this rustic place felt like stepping back in time in Vietnam. We could hear the usual pub sounds from next door, but that’s been our experience all over Vietnam.
