Hai Dong Hotel

At £15 a night, this is basic accommodation and you get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting the Hilton. The pool is small and clean, though it's shaded by the buildings and stays cool. The beds are very firm, which I personally like, but others might not. WiFi was acceptable, and the receptionist was helpful when I asked questions. It's about 6km from Mui Ne's main strip, in the actual town rather than the resort area with its bars and restaurants. There are a few nice beaches within walking distance. The room was quite dark because its only window was a slat in the door, and the shower was always cold. There's a little shared sitting area by the pool where you can work. I couldn't use it during the week I was there because it was Tet and the bin was overflowing and stank. It's also windy all the time in Mui Ne, so my papers kept blowing away. I rented a motorbike from them, and they raised the price because it was 'tet'. The hotel wasn't especially busy, so it felt like opportunism rather than a shortage price. I thought Tet was meant to be about giving and generosity, not greed.
