The hotel is small, and it's a little hard to find, but the staff are friendly and helpful. It was clean, quiet, and fairly priced for someone without high standards. Our roomy space felt a bit damp, though it had a large balcony and was prepared with pleasant ginger essential oil. The room price included an à la carte breakfast with fruit and drinks. The shared pool was clean and right beside the sea. Pets are allowed, and the nearby residential area made it easy to go out for dinner and nightlife. The equipment is old and rusty, perhaps because the hotel hasn't invested in upgrades. With no elevator, anyone bringing a heavy suitcase should book a ground-floor room. I visited during rainy season, so the beach may not have been clean or suitable for swimming or surfing.

The walk into town can feel a bit sketchy at night, since there's no sidewalk or streetlight for part of the way once you leave town proper. You may want to take a Grab after dark. The sign is there now, huge and neon, so it's hard to miss. The view is amazing and the pool is lovely. A friend and I shared a clean, air-conditioned oceanview room on the second floor. The beds were super comfortable, and we had everything we needed, including beach towels. The balcony sliding door wouldn't lock, but when we told the staff they promptly and kindly moved us into the same room next door. They were always very friendly. Vegans should let staff know about breakfast, since the menu doesn't cater to that diet. They'll provide big platters of fresh fruit and bread with tasty jam.

The location and view are great, and the place feels cozy. The rooms are worn, as are the showers, and the hot water was unreliable. Rooms with kitchens are available if you'd like to cook. The beach had a lot of garbage, and you can only walk on the sand before the tide comes in around 1 p.m.; afterward, there's no sand to walk on. Breakfast is à la carte, with six menu choices. It was alright, but don't expect too much. The staff seemed unhappy at times, though I didn't mind since they allowed my two dogs. I had trouble finding the place because there was no sign, so look for the big red "com do" sign.
