Venus Muine Hotel

Check-in was no problem even though I arrived at 3am, and the staff were friendly. The pool was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was good, with an omelet, salad, and a super fresh baguette. The coffee wasn’t great, but fresh juice was available. My main complaint was the bedroom bathroom, which was quite grubby and badly needs refurbishment. If you’re not used to a hard bed, you may want to ask about other options. I slept fine, though, and would stay again.

Breakfast was very good, with freshly made noodles or an omelet, and the pool was clean. There’s direct beach access, though bathing is best when the tide is low. At high tide the waves could push you against the stone steps and cause injuries if you’re not a good swimmer. The rooms are quite nice, but the air conditioner only switches on or off, with no temperature control. Maybe ours was broken. There’s no 24-hour reception, so you may wait if you need someone. The receptionist works in the kitchen.

The beach is nice, and there isn’t much space, so it doesn’t get crowded with tourists. The receptionist was helpful, but the bar was constantly closed for no reason, and I had to call out to the kitchen. Apart from the receptionist, the staff didn’t speak any English, which was frustrating when trying to order. The receptionist could be a bit more subtle about money. Whenever we said we’d done something, she’d openly respond, “nooo you could have ordered it through me!” She also kept nudging us each day to stay longer.

The rooms and the hotel were clean, and we were really happy with the place overall. Service was great, with reasonable prices for a sea view room and breakfast. The breakfast had a good standard and plenty of choice, and the clean pool is just five meters from the sea. The bathrooms do need some improvement, though. After showering, water stays in the middle of the bathroom.
