Hahaland - Hostel

There’s plenty of outdoor seating to relax, plus water features and high jumps into the river, which make the place pretty unique. Staff were helpful, and the food was good and reasonably priced. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at so far in my month in Vietnam.

The food was good and the beer cheap. There’s a cool swing and waterslide, but the stream was running too strongly for us to use them. Also, if spiders bother you, you might not enjoy the rooms, there were lots of them, haha!

I loved the family who run this place, but the beds are rock solid. After two nights my whole body was aching and I had to get a massage. Just a heads-up if you don’t like a hard mattress.

It’s really cheap, but I don’t think I’d stay again. My room smelled like someone had been chain-smoking against damp walls, and there was mold on the bathroom floor. A woman tried to get me to book a day trip to the caves that was far too expensive, so I declined. It was also loud at night and especially in the morning, when someone tried out the karaoke equipment at full volume at 6:30am.
